Pasikudah Beach

Pasikudah is a tourist site in the Eastern Province, and like many other famous beachfront destinations around the coast, was ravaged by both the tsunami and the Sri Lankan Civil War. The name of the place comes from “Pasi+Thuduwa”, or “Algae Bay”. Pasikudah also has one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world, where the water is only a few inches in depth and remarkably clear.
